Charlotte Square on the Loop
Spiritus Christi Prison Outreach non-profit is fortunate to have eight permanent supportive housing units at Home Leasing’s dedicated low- and medium-income housing project at Charlotte Square on the Loop. This apartment complex is the first residential development completed on the site of the former Inner Loop. Awarded by the City of Rochester as part of the Inner Loop East Transformation Project, Charlotte Square on the Loop is a critical component of the city’s effort to convert the 1950’s era below-grade Inner Loop highway into a walkable, safe, and at-grade residential and commercial community. Our permanent supportive housing program is supported by the Office of Temporary and Disability Assistance as part of New York State’s Empire State Supportive Housing Initiative (ESSHI).
Alumni of Spiritus Christi Prison Outreach’s Jennifer and Nielsen Houses are able to access safe, affordable permanent housing at Charlotte Square on the Loop, all while living in a mixed-income and diverse community setting. Our on-site case manager provides continual support while the community room and amenities of the building promote a range of community-driven programming.

“I wish that you could see the faces of the men and women as they move into their new apartments; it’s just incredible. It’s easy for most of us, who have always had a nice home to take it for granted, yet for some a home to relax and unwind has not always been theirs.”
Jim Smith, Executive Director – Spiritus Christi Prison Outreach
