Spiritus Christi Shelter + Care Program
In April 2012, Spiritus Christi Church began to offer permanent housing to men and women who demonstrated an ability to maintain sobriety and work towards accomplishing individual goals that are geared towards economic self-sufficiency. The program serves a diverse population of women and men who previously were homeless.
The Voters Block Community is located at 431 West Main Street in Rochester, built on the site where in 1872 Susan B Anthony famously cast the ballot that ultimately got her arrested. It is also the home of the 1872 Café, which pays tribute to Susan B. Anthony and other great women of history by offering food and a meeting place for the community. There are additional housing units located across the street at the historic and renovated Frederick Douglass Apartments.
